Gadsden Technical Institute is excited to announcement the planning for the 2011 CTE Month Celebration. February is the designated month. CTE Month is a national observance recognizing the important role that career and technical education play in the growth and development our economy and the need for all students to excel in the vast career opportunities that CTE affords. The festivities will begin on Monday, February 7th and conclude on Friday, February 11th.
CTE and Adult Education programs in every school are expected to participate. Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) compete annually for top honors in various competitions such as poster and badge designs, various art work, and door designs. Overall spirit awards will be given to the school that shows that most participation. Judging will take place on Friday the 11th. Awards will be given the following week. See a listing of activities below.
To be eligible for judging, the theme "Learning Today Earning Tomorrow" should be displayed in your creative projects. Please encourage other programs in your school to participate. After all, these programs are for the good of all students.
Because of the current state of the economy and the potential for inclement weather, the annual Expo and parade are both planned for April 29, 2011.
The annual expo was designed for local and regional business and industry leaders to showcase and exhibit their products and services and to be on hand for job seekers. Annually the event draws approximate 600-800 participants. The annual parade culminates that celebration with more than 75 entries.
If you are interested in participating in the 2009 Career, Technical and Adult Education Expo and parade, please contact the school for valuable information.
